The Presbyterian Youth and Children's Committee (PYCC) oversees state-level youth and children’s ministry for the Presbyterian Church of Victoria (PCV).
Through Presbyterian Youth Victoria (PYV) and Presbyterian Kids Victoria (PKV), we engage in the training and making of disciples at annual camps and regional events throughout the year, equipping youth and their leaders to continue to grow in and serve Christ every day in their local churches and youth groups. We bring youth and children from all across the state together to encounter the gospel, be encouraged, and build positive friendships in a safe environment.
Committee
The PYCC is appointed by the general assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Victoria (PCV) to engage in making and nurturing disciples of the Lord Jesus among youth and children in Victoria. Under God, we long to see children and youth across the state grow to become mature followers of Jesus.
The committee facilitates and oversees the ministries of the Presbyterian Youth and Children's Worker, the Assistant to the Youth & Children's Worker, and the many volunteer leaders recruited for each camp or event.
Hi, I'm Nick! I currently serve as the Youth & Children’s Worker (YCW) for the PCV. Before entering this ministry, I worked as a teacher in both Australia and England.
I am currently based in Warrnambool, a beautiful coastal city, where I also serve as an Elder at the Warrnambool Presbyterian Church. Outside of my church and ministry work, I enjoy running, traveling, and spending time with friends. I believe life is richer when we invest in relationships and enjoy God’s creation together.
I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve in this role, and I look forward to seeing how God will continue to use this ministry to help children and youth across Victoria grow in their personal relationship with Jesus.
Hi, I'm Liza! I currently serve as the Assistant to the Youth & Children's Worker (AYCW), working alongside Nick and the PYCC to bring the Word of God to young people in Victoria.
I am currently based in Ballarat, and worship at Grace Ballarat Presbyterian Church. Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, and finding opportunities to learn new things. I am awed by the breadth of God's created world and believe that He reveals Himself more and more as we experience his creation.
I have been involved in PYV's ministry over the last 13 years as a youth participant, and later as a volunteer leader. I am grateful to God for the opportunity to share in this important Gospel ministry again and support the work of the YCW and PYCC in reaching youth and children with the life-changing message of Jesus.
Partnerships
As part of the PCV, we work alongside local churches, volunteer leaders and other gospel-minded organisations to invest in youth and children's ministry.
METRO
The Ministry Equipping, Training & Recruiting Organisation (METRO) facilitates one-to-one traineeships in partnership with local churches. They aim to assist churches as they invest in training young people for gospel ministry and help people determine how God might be equipping and calling them to serve Him in the future.
The YouthMETRO traineeship is excellent preparation for becoming a PYV leader. During the traineeship, the YouthMETRO Summer Intensive is held at PYV Summer Camp.

PWMU
The Presbyterian Women's Missionary Union (PWMU) supports mission coordinators in congregations across Victoria, arranging for cross-cultural workers on home assignment to speak, widening understanding of cross-cultural gospel work and encouraging love for the unreached.
PKV works with PWMU to put on Dayspring Day, an annual missions day filled with fun, food, song and activity, to teach and enthuse primary school-aged children about cross-cultural workers both overseas and here in Australia.

Safe Church Unit
We take child safety seriously, and we are committed to making our camps and events positive experiences for everyone involved. The Safe Church Unit (SCU) establishes safe policies, conduct and guidelines for all churches and organisations within the denomation, in line with scripture and Victorian state law.
